INVISIBLE CITIES

First edition in English, first printing. Publisher's original quarter grey cloth with silver titles over black boards stamped in blind, in the Arnold Skolnick designed dustwrapper. A better than very good copy, the binding square and firm, bright and fresh. The contents, with a neat previous owner's name to the front endpaper and some spotting to the closed text block edge are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased silver foil dustwrapper that remains without loss or tears. Not price-clipped ($6.50 on the front flap).

A novel with structuralist and surrealist characteristics, framed as a conversation between Kublai Khan and Marco Polo in which Polo describes his travels to fifty-five fictional cities. Nominated for the 1975 Nebula Award in the best novel category. 'Le cittą invisibili' was originally published in Italy in 1972, winning Italo Calvino the Feltrinelli Prize for narration.
