BARON IN THE TREES

First edition in English, first printing. Publisher's original green cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents, somewhat foxed to the endpapers and closed text block edge, and with a previous owner's name to the front endpaper are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked, price-clipped dustwrapper that has a couple of short closed tears and mild toning to the spine.

The second volume in Calvino's 'Our Ancestors' trilogy, 'Il Barone Rampante', was first published in Italy in 1957 and won the Viareggio Prize in the same year.
