THE MOST NOBLE AND FAMOUS TRAVELS OF MARCO POLO Together with the Travels of Nicolo de Conti.

First edition, first printing. Limited edition, numbered 87 of 1050 copies. Original vellum spine and yellow cloth-covered boards with gilt titles to the spine and a heraldic motif to the upper board. Illustrated with a colour tissue-guarded frontispiece, a fold-out map and 10 further maps. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with two moderate abrasions to the cloth and vellum on the upper board, the extremities with light rubbing and discolouration. The silk page marker is detached but loosely laid in. The contents, with faint spotting to the endpapers, are otherwise clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions.

Edited from John Frampton's 1579 translation, the first translation of 'The Travels of Marco Polo' in English.
