First edition, first printing. Inscribed by the author. Original yellow cloth with blue titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and the cloth clean. The contents are lightly spotted to the text block edge and are free from previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the bright and attractive price-clipped dustwrapper which is lightly rubbed and creased to the extremities with a few pieces of tape to the underside. A very scarce title in signed state.




Inscribed by the author in black ink on the front free endpaper "For Cottesmore School / Building Fund / from / Evelyn Waugh".
