SIMPLE PETER CRADD

First US edition, first printing. Original blue cloth with black lettering and ornament to spine and front panel, in the dustwrapper designed by Bip Pares. A better than very good copy, the binding square and firm, the contents clean throughout. Minor pushing to spine tips; page block edges a little toned. In the remarkably bright and clean original dustwrapper. The lightly rubbed spine is vertically creased along its length and a little crumpled to the lower edge. There are a couple of small nicks and tears to the lower edge of the rear panel. Correctly priced $2.00 to the front flap.

An unexpected inheritance from "a long-forgotten cousin in New Zealand" spurs Peter Cradd, "a drudge" with a " slovenly wife, [...] two self-centred sons and his jazz-mad daughter" to leave his family behind and pursue a life of love and adventure. (Hubin).
