BRIMSTONE AND TREACLE

Final Draft Script, written by Dennis Potter for the 1982 Richard Loncraine directed feature film. Signed by the author and several of the leading cast. c.111 pages including the top sheet and pink revision sheets. Emendations and editing notes in ink throughout. A good copy, toned, with finger marks, creasing and with the occasional coffee splash as expected with a working document. This copy belonged to Elaine Thomas, assistant editor on the production. Loosely laid in is a black and white photograph of the cast. Also included is a glass goblet, hand engraved with the title of the film and with small paper certificate from the engraver.

Signed by Dennis Potter (writer), Sting (Martin Taylor), Denholm Elliott (Tom Bates), Joan Plowright (Norma Bates) and Suzanna Hamilton (Patricia Bates) on the top sheet. A modern gothic tale, adapted for the big screen by Dennis Potter from his 1976 withdrawn (and untransmitted until 1987) television play that was originally intended for broadcast as an episode of the BBC series 'Play for Today'.
