Author / Artist:

Innes, Lieut.-General McLeod

London: A. D. Innes and Co. 1895

First edition. Publisher's original red cloth with titles in gilt to the spine. Octavo. 340pp. With 14 illustrations including the frontispiece with tissue guard, 8 double-page plates and 5 folding maps. The armourial bookplate of banker and Conservative politician Sir William Gervase Beckett, 1st Baronet is to the front pastedown. A very good copy indeed, the binding square and firm, the cloth with a few marks and a little fading to the spine. The contents are entirely complete and without loose or torn pages. The leading edge (margin) of one of the folding maps is a little toned where it protrudes otherwise the contents are clean and bright throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. An attractive example.
