A document prepared by Lloyd's Agents in Shanghai calculating the general averages (spreading the loss among cargoholders) for an accident involving the clipper ship the 'Flying Scud' near Shanghai on 20th July 1877. It provides a detailed account of the incident, as well as of the costs accrued in Shanghai regarding the ship's repair. A rare piece of Shanghai's maritime history.
