Collection no. 2. Twenty-five black and white photographic postcards bound in original green card wrappers with titles in black to the upper cover. Fifteen of the cards with the original tissue-guards. An exceptionally fine example, the card wrappers cracked at the front inner-hinge but with the book remaining firmly bound. The postcards themselves remain in excellent, clean condition.
A selection of twenty-five photographic views of Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, China, issued by the Society of Foreign Missions of Paris. The subjects include cultural and religious sites, agriculture and industry, and local people, including group photographs of the students of the missionary schools. A remarkably bright and fresh example of a scarce and fragile item.
