THE LIFE OF SIR JAMES BROOKE: Rajah of Sarawak.

Reprint. Publisher's original blue cloth boards and gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A better than very good copy, the binding firm and square with a little bumping and rubbing to the extremities. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. The top edge and lower fore-edge of the closed text block is a little spotted. Complete in the lightly rubbed dustwrapper, with some small areas of loss to the laminate at the tips of the faded spine.

Originally published in 1879, this is a full length biography of James Brooke who in 1854 became Rajah of Sarawak. The author Spenser St John, was the Private Secretary to the Rajah and British Consul-General in Borneo.
