A near fine copy, the binding square and firm with some bumping to the spine tips, the paper and lettering bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout without marks or inscriptions. Closed edge of text block a little spotted. Complete with the the lightly creased and price-clipped dustwrapper, that is otherwise without fading, loss or tears.
An account of the ill-fated 1996 Rob Hall and Scott Fischer Everest expeditions, which Krakauer took part in as part of an assignment for 'Outside' magazine. Although the parties reached the summit, a powerful storm during their descents led to the deaths of Hall and Fischer, as well as a number of their clients.
