First edition. Deluxe limited edition. Signed by the author. Publisher's original grey and purple paper covered boards with illustration in gold to the upper board and titles in silver to the spine, in slipcase. With an introduction by Brian Aldiss. Illustrated with five full page colour plates by by John Harris. A better than very good copy, the binding square and firm, bright and fresh and would be fine but for small circular puncture with loss to the paper surface two thirds of the way down to the front spine fold. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' marks. Complete with the structurally sound slipcase that is somewhat scuffed with surface paper loss towards the rear edges.

Signed by Brian Aldiss and John Harris in black ink and Frederick Pohl in red ink on the limitation page. The limitation page also contains the signature of Arthur C. Clarke in facsimile (as issued). Issued in a limited signed and numbered edition of 500 copies, this example is numbered 81. This was Arthur C. Clarke's final novel, and was published posthumously.
