THE DOOR IN THE WALL

First Folio Society edition. Folio. Quarter brown cloth and paper covered boards, titles in gilt to the upper board and in black on a white paper label to the spine. Frontispiece and nine further tipped-in photogravures by Alvin Langdon Coburn. Together with a small octavo commentary volume, 32 pages, with essays by David Lodge and George Hendrick and a photographic portrait frontispiece of H. G. Wells taken by Colburn. Both volumes are in fine condition. Housed in the very good, structurally sound publisher's brown cloth solander case that has a few marks and minor bumping.

Issued in a limited edition of 1000 copies, this example is hand numbered 511 on the colophon. An attractive facsimile of the Grant Richards edition of 1915 that was issued in a signed limited edition of just 60 copies.
