First UK edition in book form. Signed by the author. Publisher's original red cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A better than very good copy, the binding square and firm, with some bumping to the spine tips and extremities, and just a touch of fading to the head of the spine. The contents, with very light toning to the text block, are otherwise clean throughout, and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper, which is without fading, loss, or tears. Not price-clipped (£4.95 on a small publisher's label to the lower front flap).
Signed by Richard Cowper in blue ink on the title page. A collection of science fiction short stories, first published by the Magazine of Fiction and Science Fiction (Mercury Press Inc.) in 1975. This edition marks the first time the collection was published in book form and in the UK. Nominated for the 1976 Hugo, Nebula and Locus Awards, this Gollancz edition was nominated for the 1977 Locus Award for best 'author collection'.
