First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Publisher's original red cloth with black titles to the spine, in the Bip Pares illustrated dustwrapper. A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. The closed text block edge is a little dusty and lightly spotted. Complete in the rubbed, nicked and creased dustwrapper that has several short closed tears at the fold ends and a small chip at the head of the spine (repaired with tape to the underside). Not price-clipped (10s 6d net to the front flap).
