First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Original brown faux leather with gilt titles to the spine and upper board. A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm, the corners and spine tips very slightly rubbed. There is a little light spotting to the top edge of the closed text-block, the contents are otherwise clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions.

Signed by George Alec Effinger in blue ink on the title page. A novellete set in the early 20th century about a young Middle Eastern woman who experiences the many-worlds hypothesis through a series of visions showing different versions of her life. It first appeared in Omni Magazine in 1988. This is the first separate edition. Winner of the Hugo Award, Nebula Award, Theodore Sturgeon Award and the Seiun Award.
