First edition, first printing. Signed by the author, Gordon R. Dickson. Original green cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the Emanuel Schongut illustrated dustwrapper. A better than very good copy, the binding square and firm with a touch of rubbing at the corners and a few small, pale marks to the lower board. There are a few tiny, faint spots to the closed text-block edge, the contents are otherwise clean and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper that is very slightly faded at the spine, remaining without loss or tears. Not price-clipped ($3.95 on the front flap).

Inscribed by Gordon R. Dickson on the front free endpaper "To Dick Spelman / Gordon R. Disckson". A collaboratively written science fiction novel about a retired space explorer who is manipulated into going on a mission to stake a claim to the land of a frontier planet for a powerful senator.
