Deluxe / Special issue, one of 10 with an original watercolour by the artist, in a presentation green morocco binding, decorated in gilt by Sangorski and Sutcliffe, as issued. Top edge gilt. Marbled endpapera. Illustrated endpapers bound in as extra leaves. Colour frontispiece and 11 further tipped in colour plates mounted on white paper, each with a captioned tissue guard. Further black and white illustrations throughout the text. A superb example, the binding square and tight with just minor rubbing at the extremities. The contents are in fine, clean and bright condition throughout. Housed in a bespoke, felt lined, quarter green morocco solander case, with titles in gilt to the spine.

A highly limited edition within the signed deluxe edition, the present example is numbered 6 of only 10 "extra-special" copies to contain an original full page pen, ink and watercolour illustration by Arthur Rackham. Signed and dated by the artist. A beautiful example of Arthur Rackham's Peer Gynt, offered in its rarest and most luxurious form.
