First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Publisher's original blue cloth with gilt illustration to the upper board and titles in gilt to the spine, in dustwrapper. An excellent very near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth and gilt bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the very good rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that has small chips at the head of the spine and fold corners and four pieces of tape to the underside. Not price-clipped (9s 6d net to the lower front flap).

Signed by Francis Brett Young in black ink on the front endpaper. One of the author's 'Mercian novels' set in the West Midlands and Welsh borders.
