Uncorrected proof copy of the first edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Publisher's original red card covers with black titles to the spine and upper panel. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, with light rubbing and creasing along the spine. The original publication date (19th May) on the rear cover has been crossed out and amended '2nd June' in ink. The contents, with some spots to the closed text block are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps.

Signed and dated by Tom Holt in blue ink on the title page. Uncommon in both proof and signed state.
