Second printing of the UK first edition. Signed by the author and the illustrator (with a large original drawing). Inscribed for the multi-award winning fellow author Lavie Tidhar. Original glossy illustrated boards. Illustrated throughout with full-page colour artwork by Dave McKean. A very near fine copy, the binding square and firm with slight rubbing at the spine tops and board corners and a minor bump at the head of the spine. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions.

Inscribed by Neil Gaiman in silver ink on the front pastedown "It's all over! [in a speech bubble] / Neil Gaiman [underlined]" and signed by Dave McKean alongside a large drawing of a wolf in silver pen on the front free endpaper. An appealing association copy. Winner of the New York Times Award for Best Illustrated Children's Book, the Children's Book Council's Children's Choice Award and the British Science Fiction Award for Short Fiction. It was adapted into a musical stage production that toured the UK in 2006 following a premier at Tramway in Glasgow, winning the 2006 TMA Award (later the UK Theatre Awards) for Best Show for Children and Young People, and was staged at the New Victory Theatre in New York in 2007.
