First hardcover edition, first printing. Publisher's original red cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A better than very good copy, the binding square and firm, lightly faded to the extreme top edge, with some rubbing to the tail of the spine and extremities. The closed text block is a little toned to the top edge and has some light spotting. Complete with the very good, rubbed and nicked dustwrapper, which has a large and a short closed tear with associated creasing to the bottom of front panel, and a small split to the bottom of the front flap fold, all without loss. The spine and panel edges are a little toned. Not price-clipped (16/- net to the lower front flap).
