First UK edition, first printing. Publisher's original orange cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the Tom Goddard illustrated dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth bright and fresh, with a touch of rubbing and fading to the spine tips and extremities. The contents, with just a little toning to the closed text block and a small bookseller's label to the front pastedown, are otherwise clean throughout, and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the better than very good, lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper, which is a touch toned to the spine, with some light dust marks to the rear panel and rear flap fold. Retaining the original price to the clipped lower front flap (£1.40 net).
