Second printing. Publisher's original black cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the Gahan Wilson illustrated dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm with a little bumping to the spine tips, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed, nicked and creased dustwrapper that has a small red mark to the mildly toned spine. Not price-clipped ($7.50 to the upper front flap with a square label ghost).
A collection of 20 weird tales originally written by August Derleth, Elizabeth Berkeley, Robert H. Barlow, Adolphe de Castro, Zealia Bishop, Sonia Greene, Hazel Heald and others, which were revised or completely rewritten by Lovecraft. First published in 1970 in an edition of 4,058 copies, a further 4,000 copies utilising the same sheets and dustwrapper were issued as a second printing in 1976. (Bleiler).
