Illustrated with 19 colour plates by Clive Hicks-Jenkins. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the fine original dustwrapper which is free from fading, loss or tears. Housed in the fine, structurally sound slipcase.

Issued in an 'Artist Edition' of 500 copies, signed by the illustrator Clive Hicks-Jenkins in blue ink on the colophon. 'Born of Man and Woman' was Richard Matheson's debut short story collection. First published in book form in 1954 by Chamberlain Press, it featured 15 short stories originally published between 1950 and 1953 in magazines such as 'Galaxy', 'The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction' and 'Thrilling Wonder Stories', with the stories 'Dear Diary' and 'The Traveller' published for the first time. This Centipede Press edition, issued to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the publication of the first edition, includes 100 pages of bonus material, a new foreword by R. C. Matheson and Robert Bloch's introduction from the first edition.
