Jones' contributing article 'The Defence of Gwynedd' in gilt to the spine, three raised bands, with a Welsh dragon emblem in red morocco leather and gilt to the upper board. Marbled endpapers. Linen textured paper prelims. With six tipped-in black and white maps, diagrams and architectural plans, four tipped-in black and white photographic plates, and a black and white portrait of the Right Revd. Henry William Majendie, D.D., Lord Bishop of Bangor, tipped in facing page 44. Housed in a brown cloth slipcase. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, bright and fresh. The closed text block is lightly toned to the top and bottom edges and has a small spot to the fore-edge. The contents, have a small inscription covered with whiteout to the top-right corner of the title page, light offsetting to the prelims and the occasional foxing spot throughout. In the fine, structurally sound slipcase. An attractive example of a craft binding.

Caernarvonshire Historical Society's annual transaction publications first began in 1939, with the last identified issue (volume 69) released in 2008, and promoted the study of the history and antiquities of the historical county of Caernarfon. A full list of the newest contemporary subscribers to the transaction series (at the time of publication) follows on from the annual society meeting minutes transcribed in Welsh and English at the rear.
