First edition, first printing. Publisher's original black cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the Dick Hart illustrated dustwrapper. A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm with minor bumping at the base of the spine, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents, toned to the cheap quality paper stock, with a small bookseller's paper label to the bottom of the front pastedown and a little offsetting to the endpapers, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the rubbed, nicked and spotted, price-clipped dustwrapper that has a couple of short closed tears and some toning to the spine. A decent example.

This novel, considered by many to be the author's best, was filmed twice under the title The Village of The Damned.
