First edition, first printing. Publisher's original laminated boards. Illustrated in colour by Quentin Blake throughout. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with a little bumping and rubbing to the extremities, some shallow indentations and a small abrasion to the rear board, the colours fresh and without fading. The contents, with a small erasure to the top right corner of the green coated front endpaper, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. An attractive example.

The Enormous Crocodile was the first of Roald Dahl's books to be illustrated by Quentin Blake, beginning one of the most notable partnerships of author and illustrator in late 20th century children's literature.
