A short story collection. The titular story won the 1977 Hugo and Nebula Awards for in the 'novelette' category, and was later expanded into a novel 'The Positronic Man', co-authored with Robert Silverberg. It formed the basis for the 1999 Chris Columbus film 'Bicentennial Man', starring Robin Williams, Sam Neill, and Oliver Platt.
