First Folio Society edition, first printing. Original black cloth with silver titles to the spine and a silver oil lamp design to the upper board, in dustwrapper. Illustrated with black and white monotypes by Michael Ayrton. Top edge red. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the head of the spine very slightly bumped. There is a little spotting to the closed text-block fore-edge and the red top edge is faded. The contents are clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the original dustwrapper that is faded to the spine, has some short closed tears to the edges and chips to the head of the spine and the top edge of the front panel. There is a piece of tape to the underside repairing a chip at the top edge of the front panel and another reinforcing a closed tear at the top edge of the front flap fold.
