SKY PIRATES OF LOST ISLAND

First edition. Publisher's original blue cloth with titles in black to the spine, in the Stanley Orton Bradshaw illustrated dustwrapper. With a black and white frontispiece and three black and white plates by Stanley Orton Bradshaw. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, with a little bumping and creasing to the extremities, the cloth with a few minor marks. The contents, with light offsetting to the rear endpapers and just a little spotting to the lightly toned closed text block and rear pastedown, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the rubbed and nicked dustwrapper, which has several closed tears with associated creasing (secured with tape to the underside) and a scuff with surface paper loss to the top right of the upper panel. Not price-clipped (3s. 6d. net to the lower front flap).

This volume forms part of the publisher's extensive 'The Ace Series', alongside other G. E. Rochester aviation novels including 'Despot of the World' (1936) and 'Jackals of the Clouds' (1936). Rochester's experiences in active service during the First World War inspired much of his literary output, which was often written under a pseudonym (such as Frank Chaltam, Barton Furse, Jeffrey Gaunt, Eric Roche, and Hamilton Smith).
