Third printing of the first edition with these illustrations. Publisher's original sage green cloth with gilt titles and illustrations to the upper board and spine. Without dustwrapper. Illustrated with a black and white frontispiece, title page illustration, and 11 further full page plates by F. D. Bedford. A very good copy, the binding firm, with a little bumping to the corners, the spine just slightly rolled. The cloth is a little faded to the upper and lower boards and rubbed at the extremities, the gilt a touch dulled to the upper board. The contents, with some offsetting to the endpapers, a small bookseller's label to the front pastedown and light spotting to the closed text-block edge, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. The illustration plates are bright and complete. An attractive copy.
F. D. Bedford's beautifully illustrated edition of J. M. Barrie's classic children's fantasy, is the first publication of the full length story of Peter Pan, as most of us know it. This third printing was issued in the same month and year as the first printing and other than the publisher's edition statement is identical in every respect.
