First edition. Signed by the author (and artist). Publisher's original dark red cloth with titles in silver to the spine, in the Quentin Blake illustrated dustwrapper. Profusely illustrated in colour throughout. Together with folded card advertisement for the publisher's private exhibition of Blake's illustration works loosely laid in. A very near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth fresh, lightly rubbed at the spine tips and extremities. The contents are clean throughout, and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the original dustwrapper, which is bright and fresh, with some light offsetting to the underside, and lightly rubbed to the edges. Not price-clipped (£14.99 to the lower front flap).

Issued in an edition of 1000 copies for the Chris Beetles Gallery. A folded card advertisement is loosely laid in, advertising the Quentin Blake 'Laureate's Progress' exhibition, which took place from Monday 4th - Saturday 9th November 2002, and two other exclusive events organised by the publisher celebrating the exhibition and concurrent release of the book.
