First edition, first printing. Publisher's original navy cloth, gilt ruled with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. Illustrated throughout with ten black and white photographs and reproductions of artworks. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, with a little rubbing to the spine tail, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents, with some tiny corner creases to a few pages, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper, which has a short closed tear to the head of the spine (reinforced to the underside with tape) and is otherwise free from fading or loss.
