First UK edition and first hardcover edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Original navy paper-covered boards, in dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the head of the spine with a tiny bump. There is some very light spotting to the closed text-block edge and slight offsetting to the endpapers, the contents are otherwise clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper that is without fading, loss or tears. Not price-clipped (£1.50 on the front flap).
