First edition, first printing. Quarto (26.5 x 19 cm). Original cream card wrappers lettered and illustrated in pink, black and blue. Pink endpapers. A fine, bright copy, the binding firm, the wraps and contents clean throughout.

A short story by Charles Bukowski, with five illustrations, including cover and frontispiece, by the great Robert Crumb. The story, in which a journalist brings flowers to his wife in a mental hospital, was adapted in 2000 for a short film by David Morrissey with Ian Hart cast as the journalist. Printed in Santa Barbara for the Black Sparrow Press by Graham Mackintosh and designed by Barbara Martin, the edition in wrappers was limited to 5000 copies. There were in addition 361 hardback copies signed by author and illustrator.
