Publisher's original blue cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the Quentin Blake (Boy) and Julie Tennent (Going Solo) illustrated dustwrapper. Illustrated with black and white photographs and line drawings throughout. Both are very near fine copies, the binding square and firm, bright and fresh. The contents clean throughout and without previous owners' marks. The top edge of the closed text block of 'Going Solo' is a little spotted. Complete with the bright original dustwrappers that are without fading, loss or tears. Not price-clipped (£6.50 net and £7.95 net to the lower front flap).

'Boy' is inscribed by the authorin blue and black ink on the half title 'To James / Love / Roald Dahl / 1985'. 'Going Solo' is signed by Roald Dahl in blue ink on the half title. A beautiful signed set of Dahl's autobiographical works. The first book explores Dahl's youth and Norwegian roots, his hilarious boarding school escapades, and reveals the inspiration for his classic children's novel 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' (1964); while the second focuses on Dahl as a young man, particularly his adventures overseas working for Shell Oil and later with the Royal Air Force in the Second World War.
