Uncorrected proof copy of the first edition, first printing. Publisher's original green card covers, printed in black. A better than very good copy the binding square and firm, bright and fresh, the rear cover with a couple of creases to the upper corner. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. A handful of the last pages are lightly creased at the upper corner. Very scarce in this form.

The genuine uncorrected proof copy of the true first edition of King's multi-award winning horror novel. Hodder also produced a 'limited edition' Advance Reading Copy of 1000 copies bound in silver covers and housed in a slipcase, examples of which are plentiful in commerce. The first UK edition, published in 20 August 1998, precedes the American first edition by a month (published 22 September). Winner of the 1999 Bram Stoker Award for Best Novel, the British Fantasy Award for Best Novel, and the Locus Award for Best Dark Fantasy / Horror Novel.
