AMATEUR IN VIOLENCE

First edition, first printing. A paperback original. Publisher's original card covers. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the covers toned, rubbed and a little creased at the edges, the red lettering on the spine somewhat faded. The contents, with toning to the pulp paper-stock are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Scarce.

Issued as number four in the publisher's 'Ellery Queen Presents' series. A collection of one short novel and ten short stories, three of which feature Inspector Hazlerigg and four feature Inspector Petrella. There was no equivalent British publication. The title story formed the basis for the 1960 Terry Bishop directed film 'The Unstoppable Man' starring Cameron Mitchell, Harry H. Corbett, Marius Goring and Lois Maxwell.
