First UK edition. Publisher's original red cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding firm, the cloth and gilt fresh, with mild rubbing to the slightly rolled spine. The contents, with some spotting to the endpapers and just a few spots throughout, are otherwise clean and without inscriptions or stamps. The closed text block has some toning to the top edge and is moderately spotted to the fore-and bottom edges. Complete with the rubbed, nicked, toned and spotted dustwrapper, which that a couple of closed tears and a small chip to the head of the spine. Not price-clipped (18/- net to the lower front flap).
