Publisher's original black cloth with mushroom cloud illustration in blind to the upper board, with titles in silver and smaller illustration in blind to the spine, in the David Ho illustrated dustwrapper. Black silk bookmark. Top edge green. Illustrated endpapers, five double page black and white illustrations by David Ho, four colour facsimiles of previous hardback and paperback editions, and two black and white photographs at the rear. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents are clean throughout, and without previous owners' inscriptions and stamps. Complete with the original pictorial dustwrapper, which is bright and fresh, and without fading, loss, or tears.

Issued in an edition of 500 copies, from which this example is numbered 18 and signed by Pat Frank, David Ho, and Brian Furlong in blue and black ink, respectively, on the colophon. 'Alas, Babylon' was first published in 1959 by J. B. Lippincott (Philadelphia, PA). This expanded edition includes the following short stories 'Midget's Moon', 'Stranger in the Sky', 'The Pentagon Spy', 'The Empty Desert', 'In Enemy Hands', 'The Girl Who Almost Got Away', 'The Christmas Bogey', 'Prexy Was A Pin-Up', and 'Russian Agent'.
