A lovely fine copy, the binding square and firm with a small scuff to one corner, the boards bright and fresh. The contents, with light spotting to the top edge of the closed text block, are clean throughout, and without previous owners' inscriptions and stamps.

Issued in an edition of 300 copies, from which this example is numbered 50, and signed by the author James Herbert in black ink on the colophon. Best known for his horror novels 'The Fog' (1975) and 'The Dark' (1980) and the horror trilogy 'The Rats' (1974-84), Herbert here presents an alternative history novel, following an American pilot stranded in dystopian London ravaged by biological warfare. First published in 1996 by UK publisher HarperCollins.
