The slipcase has a little rubbing and wear to the extremities but is otherwise in good order.
Lucian's "True History", written in the second century AD, was a satirical take on the outlandish tales reported in ancient sources which presented fantastical mythology as true history. It is commonly cited as the first known text that could be termed 'science fiction', and is the earliest known work to include travel to outer space, alien lifeforms, and interplanetary warfare. The present edition sets the Greek text and Gibbings' fine woodcut illustrations in double column as a border around the English translation. A superb copy of a very handsome work, one of Gibbings' greatest achievements for the Golden Cockerel Press. [Chanticleer 53].
