Memoir by Maggie McCune. Profusely illustrated with seven colour plates and black and white illustrations throughout by Margaret Bruce Wells. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the near fine structurally sound slipcase, which has a light bump to the bottom edge.
Margaret Bruce Wells studied at Glasgow School of Art (1928 - 1933) and Brook Green School of Art (1933 - 1935) where she worked under Leon Underwood (1890 - 1975). She would continue as his assistant until the outbreak of the Second World War. She exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1939 and 1970 and was an elected honorary member of the Society of Wood Engravers.
