Woodcut print from the original 1952 block measuring 19.3 x 11.7cm on on C. F. Fabriano 100/100 cotton paper measuring 28 x 19cm. A couple of faint spots to the extreme right edge of the paper margin, another centrally to the top margin and a couple to the extreme left edge on the verso, otherwise in fine condition.
Produced as a Christmas Card design for 1952 from Enid Marx and her partner, historian, Margaret Lambert. Enid Marx (1902-1998) was a British textile designer, printmaker and illustrator who, alongside her contemporaries Eric Ravilious and Edward Bawden, defined mid-century design. Perhaps best known for her iconic London underground fabrics, she was one of the first ever women to be named a Royal Designer for Industry.
