A very good set, the bindings square and firm with a little fading of the spine. The contents spotted to the early pages of volume one and the margins around the folding map are otherwise clean throughout and without loose or torn pages or previous owner's inscriptions or stamps.

This volume covers two famous expeditions, that of 1877 from the mouth of the Congo River to Zanzibar and the Emin Pasha Relief of 1886-1890.
