THE PATH TO POWER

First edition, first printing. Signed by Margaret Thatcher with, loosely laid in, a menu booklet for the Bexleyheath Conservative Association Annual Dinner, 1990, signed by Geoffrey Howe. Publisher's original black cloth with titles in gilt to the spine, in dustwrapper. Illustrated with numerous black and white photographs. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents clean and crisp throughout. Complete with the dustwrapper, fine except for the merest rubbing to rear outer corners. Not price-clipped (£25.00 net to the front flap). An attractive copy.

Signed by Margaret Thatcher in blue ink to the title page. 'The Path to Power', Margaret Thatcher's second memoir, covers her life from childhood up to 1979, when she entered Downing Street. The loosely laid in menu for the Bexleyheath Conservative Association Annual Dinner is signed in black ink to the front panel by Geoffrey Howe (a speaker at the dinner). Howe was Margaret Thatcher's longest-serving cabinet minister (holding the posts of Chancellor of the Exchequer, Foreign Secretary, Leader of the House of Commons, and Deputy Prime Minister) while his resignation in 1990 was famously instrumental in her fall from power.
