ITALIAN MUSIC INCUNABULA

First edition, first printing. Original burgundy cloth with gilt titles to the spine and a gilt motif to the upper board, in dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm with very slight bumping to the head of the spine and top corners. There are a few small, light spots to the closed text-block edge, the contents are otherwise clean and bright throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper that is faded to the spine.

A study of the technological processes developed in Italy to print music books and a bibliography of Italian music incunabula, marking a major advance in the paleotypography of music.
