An exploration of the life and work of the Roman poet Catullus, situated within the social and cultural context of the period, by the leading classical scholar T.P. Wiseman. Incidentally, this title was published during the period in which Wiseman taught a young J.K. Rowling at the University of Exeter, and it has since been speculated that he provided the model for Professor Albus Dumbledore in Rowling's Harry Potter series.
