First UK edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Publisher's original black cloth with titles in silver to the spine, in the Chris Moore illustrated dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, with light rubbing and bumping to the head of spine, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. The top and bottom edge of the closed text block are a little spotted. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper that is without fading, loss or tears. Not price-clipped (£18.99 to the lower front flap).

The author's first collection of short stories, first published in a limited edition by Night Shade Books, San Francisco in 2006. This first UK, and first trade edition includes four stories not included in the limited edition 'Digital to Analogue', 'Minla's Flowers', 'Cardiff Afterlife', and 'Everlasting'. The titular short story was the first of Reynolds' works to be adapted for television or film (In the Netflix animated anthology 'Love, Death & Robots').
